MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

Communications: timely analysis and access to the latest news and research 

Through ongoing monitoring of environmental issues and news impacting the Canadian paper packaging industry, PPEC helps its member companies stay up-to-date on government and industry environmental issues impacting members.

As a member of PPEC, you are entitled to receive our members-only communications, which include:

  • Blogs – providing insights and analysis on Canadian paper packaging environmental issues. Blogs are distributed to members in advance of being posted publicly on our website, and depending on the issue, they may include additional information exclusive for members.
  • Infosheets – policy and research briefs summarizing environmental and recycling government and industry initiatives impacting the paper packaging industry.
  • Monthly Newsletter – a monthly update on the top environmental and industry media stories, highlights of recent PPEC news, and industry and regulatory updates.

Advocacy and building awareness: a national environmental voice for the paper packaging industry.

PPEC represents the environmental interests of its members as the industry's national industry on environmental issues.

PPEC participates in provincial and federal government discussions and consultations concerning issues impacting members, including Extended Producer Responsibility, recycling, and other regulatory and industry issues.

Resources: providing fact-based resources and research to support members. 

PPEC is the go-to resource focused on promoting the environmental attributes of paper-based packaging in Canada.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

PPEC has four membership categories:

Packaging Mill

  • Packaging mill membership is open to any mill which produces linerboard, medium, boxboard or kraft paper.
  • Fees are based on quarterly Canadian shipments (using Metric Tonnes as the measurement).

Packaging Converter

  • Packaging converter membership is open to any integrated or independent converter using corrugated or boxboard materials to produce finished packaging products.
  • Annual fees are based on the number of plants/facilities owned by the member, currently at $1,220/plant.

Corrugators

  • Corrugating members who own corrugating machines
  • Member dues are received as levies through the CCCA.

Associate Member

  • Associate membership is open to any supplier of goods or services for our Converter and Mill members.
